Shoreham Wordfest v1

Fitzhugh Gates is helping to support the ninth annual Shoreham Wordfest Literary Festival, a feast of events exploring what lies ahead and how we can help to shape it.

Highlights include John Humphrys, in one of his first public appearance after leaving Radio 4's Today programme, our new Poet Laureate, Simon Armitage reading from his latest collection, and TV science presenter Dallas Campbell celebrating 50 years since the first moon landing.

Lynne Truss will launch her latest Constable Twitten mystery and Simon Brett will entertain with his one-man play Entries and Exits. Stanley Johnson will outline efforts to protect ecological diversity and we have a whole weekend of debate and discussion on climate change and the environment, opened by Peter Owen-Jones.

Wordfest have events for children and families including a beautiful dramatic production of Michael Morpurgo's 'I Believe in Unicorns'.

Wordfest starts with Creative Writing workshops throughout September with performance opportunities at the Open Mic and Storytelling events.

The launch event, The Future Starts Here, is on 27 September at Sussex Yacht Club and we end with our party on 13 October at Ropetackle Arts Centre.
